If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably not really ever given much thought about your kitchen cabinet hardware.  I mean, I lived with my parents, then in some rentals, then we bought our first house, and ALL of them already had cabinet hardware, so it’s not like I thought to myself “Hmm, this hardware is really dragging down the look of my kitchen.”  I feel like this is pretty natural as it seems like such a minor detail in the grand scheme of things, but to be honest, your kitchen cabinet hardware can make a HUGE impact on the look and feel of your kitchen….especially if you’re in a plain-Jane builder grade kitchen that doesn’t have ANY cabinet hardware!

That’s the situation we found ourselves in.  We had this amazing new house that just lacked character all around.  In my last post on the builder grade kitchen updates, I shared the first step in adding some character in for not a lot of money.  So to continue with this theme, I partnered with Liberty Hardware to show you how easy it is to update a simple, builder grade kitchen with just some cabinet knobs and drawer handles!

The amazing things about updating your kitchen with knobs and pulls is that it is a pretty affordable, quick, and easy project.  It took me probably less than 30 minutes to put all the knobs on, and slightly longer to put the drawer handles on since I had to make sure they were level.  If you already have existing knobs and handles, then this project will go even faster since you’ll just need to swap out what you currently have!

So let’s talk options…

There are literally THOUSANDS of options out there for cabinet knobs and drawer handles and pulls.  I knew I wanted something a little out of the ordinary in terms of what you traditionally see in kitchens, but not something so bold that it would be all that people look at when they come in the kitchen.  So I worked with my friends over at Liberty Hardware to find just the right ones.  If you’ve never looked at the choices available from Liberty Hardware, I highly suggest you take some time to browse their site as they have so many options available that are sure to fit your needs.  They’re also incredibly affordable and a lot of styles can be found from retailers like Lowe’s!

Below are the exact products that I decided to go with…

As you can see, they’re not flashy or super bold, but they are definitely not something you traditionally see in a kitchen.  I’ve had so many compliments on them and I can’t tell you enough how much I love these options!  These will definitely be staying in my kitchen for a long time!

Take a look below to see what they look like actually installed in the kitchen!

If you need a kitchen refresh and you don’t want to spend a lot of time or money, I highly suggest doing something as simple as swapping out your cabinet hardware.  I promise you won’t be sorry you did! 🙂
