Make Something May – Day 3

Today was definitely one of those days that I could’ve used the “I don’t have time to make anything” excuse.  Not because I really didn’t have the time, but because I wanted to spend it all outside!  It was one of the first REALLY nice days that we’ve had here in the Midwest this spring, so the hubs and I wanted to take advantage of it and head outdoors.  We have this favorite spot that’s about 40 minutes away where we park our car and just walk for miles.  Today we ended up walking 8 miles as we just strolled along the river taking advantage of the nice day before it gets too hot and humid – which I’m sure those days are coming very soon.

Once we got home, I was pretty beat.  And burnt.  Really burnt.  I didn’t think we’d be outside for that long so I didn’t take any sunscreen.  Big mistake.  I now look like a lobster.  So between being zapped by the sun and just being exhausted from the long walk, I just didn’t have a lot of energy to put into some huge project.  So I did a little one. 🙂

I’ve been wanting some monogrammed magnets for a while, and now that I have my handy-dandy Silhouette Cameo, I decided I can just make my own.  The even better thing is that I already had all the supplies here at home, so it was seriously like, a 10-minute project.

The few things I needed for this included vinyl (I chose black and silver so I can take these to work and they’ll match my cube decor), magnets, glue, and glass gems (I had the 1″ glass gems already and had originally purchased them at the Dollar Tree).

The picture quality on these is absolutely terrible – I know.  🙁  I will provide some updated photos once I get them in my cube at work.

Day 3 of my Make Something May challenge is complete.  Now, I’m off to bed (yes, it’s like 7pm – I’m tired 😛 ) so I can rest up and plan some more things to make as the week unfolds.
