We All Need More Home Space, But How Do You Make Some?!

We all would love to have just a bit more space in our homes, wouldn’t we? A place to put some more furniture, to make the rooms a bit more cozy. Or a place to store some more items, to get all that clutter off of the floor, and into a secure and tidy draw where it truly belongs!

But how do you go about creating some more room, when you have little room to spare? It costs a lot of money to knock down a wall and extend a room out, after all, so you’ve really got to work with what you already have! But don’t worry, there are quite a few ways (and most of them are small, handy solutions!) that could help you out here. So, let’s go through a few below.

Prioritize Storage Solutions

Storage is always going to be king of the space making world. The more solutions you have, for putting things away and making sure the coffee table is always a tidy and usable space, the better! Which means it’s time to prioritize the amount of storage space you have in your household – you’re going to want a shelf, at least, in every single room of the house.

And hide your storage solutions under bigger items of furniture. Under the bed, and under the sofa, and even in the spare kitchen cabinet, if you manage to have one of those…

Get Rid of Bigger Furniture

Speaking of bigger furniture, we all have a few pieces of large furniture we’d rather be without. Maybe an old chair you inherited from your grandmother, or maybe a table that’s breaking down bit by bit – but what can you do to get rid of them? They’re way too cumbersome to fit into your own car, after all.

Lots of us just lump it, and stick the chair or the table out of the way where we can’t really see it. But that doesn’t deal with the problem, does it? Instead, it’d be much better to turn to a service like Junk Rescue, who can remove your large furniture pieces for you, and save you peace of mind.

And even if you loved your grandmother and miss her every day, don’t be afraid to just throw the chair out. If it’s in tattered, in pieces, can’t be repaired, or you simply don’t like, it’s much more practical to get rid of it! Consider this your permission to do so!

Change the Use of Spare Rooms

And if you have a spare room in your house, or at least, a spare bit of room, change its purpose. Turn it into something more usable; if you have a side walk-in cupboard or closet off the edge of the hallway or your bedroom, turn it into a little art room, or an office. Even if you can only fit an easel or a computer in there, you’ve still maximized on your space!
